Once again we translate the clinical question into terms for the query:
- MeSh Major Topic: congestive heart failure
- MeSh Term: male
- MeSh Subheading: survival
- Substance name: carvedilol
- Publication Type: randomized controlled trial
Let's go to http://www.goldenhour.co.il, and choose Medline at the left menu.
Double click on the first link (PubMed).
You will get this screen:
Like the other example, scroll the page down to: Add term(s) to Query or View Index.
Open the left window (where you can read "All Fields: now) and click on Mesh Major Topic. On the
right window, write: congestive heart failure.
Click on Preview.
Wait until this screen appears:
To narrow our search, go to "Add Term(s) to Query or View Index, and choose MeSh Terms
(instead of MeSh Major Topic) and next to it please write: male.
Please click on Preview.
We add another term to our search.
Instead of MeSh Terms, please click on MeSh Subheading, and on the right window write: survival
Click on Preview again and you will get:
We go again to add terms to query, and choose Substance Name and write: carvedilol.
We click on Preview and we get:
We want to get all the randomized controlled trials .Choose on Publication Type and write : randomized controlled trial. Then click on Preview.
We have narrowed our search to only 5 articles.
